The success of Alessandro Chincherini – founder of the Chincherini Holiday Group – began in Limone in the 1950s with a small family hotel. At this time, Lake Garda was experiencing an economic boom and a growth of tourism. Alessandro – known as Sandro – immediately saw potential in this and spent the next 10 years purchasing land and constructing new hotels, expanding to the shores of Lake Garda in the Veneto region.

In the 1980s, sons Alberto and Luciano joined the company actively and proceeded with the first acquisitions in Sicily: Giardini Naxos and Taormina.
The company has never rested on its laurels, having always invested in buying new hotels – particularly on the eastern bank of Benaco but also in Trentino, taking over the Grand Hotel Astoria in Lavarone.
Today, the Group has over 22 properties able to satisfy the needs of various types of guests.
